The MCAT is one of the most intimidating parts of the Medical School application process and one of the most common perceived barriers to becoming a doctor. Regardless of what your feelings are, let's get you some tools to better tackle this beast!
EVERY PENNY COUNTS! Prior to registering for the MCAT, you should apply for the Fee Assistance Program (FAP) which will not only reduce the cost of the MCAT but also provide FREE study materials.
3-6 months studying. If you are able to commit an entire summer to MCAT studying, you’re good to go. Completing all the prerequisites is not necessary prior to taking the exam but can be very beneficial (especially biochem).
Any! I personally used Kaplan and enjoyed how concise it was. You will find that content review is a trap and does not require more than a month at most. Focus on topics you are much less familiar with and other subjects will be reviewed while doing practice questions.
The KEY to the MCAT is practice problems. I recommend all the AAMC exams and question banks as well as UWorld if you are looking for additional practice.
